Community Impact Analysis for the proposed 76ers Arena in Philadelphia

BJH Advisors led an analysis of the community impacts for the proposed 76ers arena in Philadelphia on behalf of the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and City of Philadelphia Department of Planning and Development. BJH teamed up with Sojourner Consulting and AKRF to assess how this major development might affect the local community in Philadelphia’s Chinatown, Chinatown North, Market East, and Washington Square West. The team conducted interviews, focus groups, and surveys, targeting diverse community stakeholders, including marginalized groups and those with limited English proficiency. BJH’s data-driven analysis was supplemented by qualitative research, which captured narratives and insights from local business owners, residents, and community organizations, focusing on the potential social, economic, cultural, and traffic impacts of the arena on Chinatown, Market East, and surrounding neighborhoods. These findings were integrated into a report to provide a comprehensive assessment of the proposed development.
